With The 5th Instalment Of #thhguruinterviews , We Had The Chance To Ask Elijah Melo a Few Questions:

Age: 22
Where are you from & where are you currently living?
London, UK.
What’s your process?
I normally make beats in my head to start with, and I translate it into a couple of instrumentals. The topics for the writing comes later for me, lately I've been free-styling and just going with anything that connects the most.
P H O T O G R A P H 16 is a masterpiece, one of those tapes you play through and don’t even realize it repeats. How long did it take you to finish/ where do you think it ranks?
I really appreciate the support, and It awes me how you say that. It took me around 4 months, I probably made around a 100 beats and cut it to 10, so you can probably imagine a lot of long sleepless nights for this one. I'm definitely proud of the accomplishment as it's my first Project. I'd like to thank all the artists that graced their presence on the project. In terms of ranking, i'll let the audience decide!
How was working with Jhené Aiko?
I haven't actually had a chance of meeting her, but she is definitely the key reason why Habits worked so well. Her voice puts you in that trance, just does it full justice.
Do you prefer a particular art form – emceeing or producing?
They are both therapeutic in different ways but hold the same importance to me.
What are new challenges when you step into the studio?
It's always pushing myself to do something more than what I'm used to, try something new and if it fails try again later.

Something that fans wouldn’t know about you?
I was actually about to quit music and I posted 90s girl for the hell of it, and here we are couple of months later.

That's easy, The Warm Up by J Cole. I play it almost every day!
Everyone has a goal when they first start making music, whether it be making a million dollars or to become one of the greatest. What’s yours?
I've always wanted to help and show people that they should choose to do what they love and what makes them happy. What are you doing with your life if you're not living your full potential?
